Revive RF for Vaginal Laxity: How Radiofrequency Heating Differs from Laser

Radiofrequency vaginal tightening at S Women's Clinic is done with ISIS Revive, a Korean device that sends radiofrequency current into the vaginal wall so its deeper layers warm up, without any incision. The aim is slow collagen renewal where laxity is mild. Dr. Hye-Yeon Lee, a female OB/GYN specialist, examines you and gives the treatment herself. Research on this exact device is still missing.

Who considers Revive RF, and who should look elsewhere

The vaginal canal is elastic by design, and it changes with vaginal delivery, with age and with the fall in estrogen around menopause. A sense that things feel wider or less firm than before is a common experience and, on its own, not a disease. Many women live with it comfortably. Others find it bothers them enough to ask about an option that leaves no wound to look after.

Radiofrequency is one of those options. The women who ask about it at the clinic tend to share a few points:

  • A mild, slowly noticed change since one or more births, with no bulge and no leaking
  • A preference for warmth spread through the wall over pinpoint or surface treatments
  • Willingness to accept a modest, uncertain effect in exchange for no incision

When Revive RF is not the right step

Treatment waits if you are pregnant, if an infection or unexplained bleeding is being investigated, or if the lining is inflamed on the day. Mention a pacemaker or any other implanted electronic device at booking, since radiofrequency current may not be appropriate then.

Some complaints belong in another conversation altogether. Urine escaping with a cough or a jump, or a feeling that something is coming down, points toward stress incontinence or pelvic organ prolapse, and those need a medical work-up first. When the opening itself is clearly wide, or the perineum is thin after a tear, warming the wall is unlikely to meet the hope behind the request, and Dr. Hye-Yeon Lee will explain what vaginoplasty for women (vaginal tightening surgery) involves. She may also advise waiting if the request comes mostly from a partner.

How ISIS Revive radiofrequency heats the vaginal wall

Radiofrequency treatment uses an alternating electrical current at a very high frequency. Tissue resists the flow of that current, and the resistance turns into heat inside the tissue itself, spread through a volume of the wall. That is the main difference from the other two energy devices the clinic uses: a laser is absorbed by water at the surface it strikes, and focused ultrasound concentrates its energy at small points at a fixed depth.

The aim of the warming is a controlled thermal stimulus. Collagen fibers contract when heated, and over the following weeks the tissue lays down new collagen as part of its repair response. Whether that process produces a change a woman can feel, and for how long, has not been settled by research.

The device is ISIS Revive, made by AQUAL in Korea. It delivers multiwave radiofrequency in individual shots through a single-use tip, with control of the amount of heat delivered. The fee schedule lists a session of 450 shots.

A Revive RF visit in four steps

  1. Dr. Hye-Yeon Lee asks about your concern and performs a pelvic examination
  2. You lie on the treatment chair, and a fresh tip is attached to the handpiece
  3. Shots are placed section by section around the canal while the doctor checks how warm it feels to you
  4. The handpiece is removed; you rest briefly, dress and go back to your day

Revive is radiofrequency, and why the name matters

On the clinic's Korean menu this treatment sits under a heading that uses the Korean word for laser. The device is radiofrequency: no light is produced, nothing is vaporized and there is no surface wound. It also does not narrow the vaginal opening or rebuild the muscles of the perineum, which is what surgery is for.

Revive RF price in South Korea

ISIS Revive radiofrequency, 450 shots: ₩1,300,000 before VAT · ₩1,430,000 including 10% VAT

This is the fee for one visit. Korean fee schedules are written before tax, so we show the VAT-inclusive figure beside it; that second number is the one charged at the desk. Since January 1, 2026, foreign visitors can no longer claim the VAT back on cosmetic procedures.

The fee schedule also contains packages that pair Revive RF with Ultra Vera HIFU, with the EVERO CO2 laser or with an intimate PRP injection. Those combined prices are listed on the non-surgical vaginal tightening overview, and the team can add any of them to your written quote once the doctor has examined you.

After radiofrequency vaginal tightening: the first week

  1. Day 0

Treatment in clinic. A warm or flushed feeling inside can last a few hours; ordinary activities and a flight home are fine the same day.

  2. Day 1

Some women notice light discharge or mild tenderness. Wear cotton underwear and skip a hot bath for the day.

  3. Day 3

Warmth and tenderness have normally faded. Discomfort that keeps building is a reason to message the doctor.

  4. Day 7

By the end of the first week the area should feel as usual; any change in firmness, if it comes, develops over later weeks.

Revive RF risks and the evidence behind radiofrequency

Heating tissue from the inside carries its own set of possible problems, and Dr. Hye-Yeon Lee goes through them with you before the first shot:

  • A hot or prickling sensation during treatment, and a lingering warmth afterwards
  • Redness, swelling or tenderness of the vaginal lining for a day or two
  • Light discharge or spotting
  • Burns of the lining, a known risk with any energy device, which can heal with scar tissue
  • Discomfort during intercourse while the tissue settles
  • Little or no noticeable difference, since response varies widely

Burns, scarring and persistent pain have been reported after vaginal energy treatments, radiofrequency included, which is why the examination and the energy settings matter.

No peer-reviewed study of ISIS Revive itself was found when this page was prepared. The best-known controlled trial of radiofrequency for laxity used a surface-cooled device from another manufacturer: one treatment, compared with a sham, left women rating their laxity better at 12 months (Krychman et al., 2017). Results with one machine cannot be assumed for another. A review of 59 studies of lasers and radiofrequency devices, most of them without a control group, concluded that which women benefit, whether maintenance is needed and how safe the devices are over years remain open questions (Juhász et al., 2020). A 2024 review of non-invasive options for vaginal laxity reached a similar view (Eid et al., 2024).

Revive RF questions from women traveling to Seoul

Does Dr. Lee give the Revive RF treatment herself?

Yes. Dr. Hye-Yeon Lee, a Korean board-certified OB/GYN specialist practicing near Gangnam Station since 2008, examines you, holds the handpiece throughout the treatment and answers your questions afterwards. There is no other doctor at the clinic, so the person you consult is the person who treats you.

Can I take a flight home right after vaginal RF?

Yes. The clinic's guidance allows a flight home on the day of Revive RF, since nothing is cut and ordinary activities resume straight away. Dr. Hye-Yeon Lee still looks at the treated area before you leave, and a little time before a long-haul departure gives room for a second check if anything feels wrong.

When can I have sex after a Revive RF session?

Dr. Hye-Yeon Lee tells you when you can resume intercourse before you leave the clinic, based on how the lining looks after treatment. If you still feel warmth or tenderness, waiting until it has gone is sensible. Pain during intercourse that persists for more than a few days should be reported to her.

Is VAT included in the Revive RF price?

The fee schedule amount is before VAT, and the figure shown next to it adds 10%, which is what you pay. Foreign visitors have not been able to reclaim VAT on cosmetic treatment since the start of 2026, so plan your budget around the VAT-inclusive number.

Will the doctor speak English with me on the day?

Yes. The examination, the explanation of risks and the treatment itself can all be handled in English at the clinic. Before you travel, you can send questions in English through the form on this page or on WhatsApp, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
