Fractional CO2 Vaginal Laser with EVERO: Treatment, Healing and Evidence

A CO2 laser vaginal treatment at S Women's Clinic uses Finexel EVERO, a fractional CO2 laser that makes rows of microscopic heat wounds in the vaginal lining while the tissue between them is left alone. Healing of those points is the intended change. Dr. Hye-Yeon Lee, a female OB/GYN specialist, examines you and treats you herself, and flying home the same day is possible.

Who asks about the EVERO CO2 laser, and when it is the wrong tool

The lining of the vagina is thin, moist and responsive to hormones. After childbirth it can feel less snug, and after menopause it often becomes thinner and drier as estrogen falls. Both are ordinary stages of life rather than illnesses, and how much they matter is a personal question. Women who look up a vaginal laser usually want to know whether a short treatment with no cutting could make a difference they would notice.

  • A mild feeling of laxity after vaginal birth, with the opening and perineum otherwise intact
  • Interest in a surface treatment of the lining that does not involve needles or stitches
  • A short trip to Seoul, where a same-day flight home matters

When Dr. Lee advises against the laser

The laser is postponed during pregnancy, while an infection, an open sore or unexplained bleeding is present, and when an abnormal finding needs to be looked into first. If dryness, burning or pain during intercourse after menopause is the main complaint, the doctor will tell you that a large controlled trial found the laser no better than a sham for those symptoms, and she will go through the established options before any device.

Leaking urine, a bulge at the entrance or a heavy dragging feeling are signs of stress incontinence or prolapse and need their own assessment. When laxity is pronounced, a laser that works on the lining is unlikely to satisfy, and the conversation turns to vaginoplasty for women (vaginal tightening surgery) instead.

How the Finexel EVERO fractional CO2 laser works

A carbon dioxide laser emits infrared light at 10,600 nm, a wavelength absorbed strongly by water. Because the vaginal lining is rich in water, the energy is taken up close to the surface instead of traveling deep. In fractional mode the beam is split into a grid of very fine columns. Each column vaporizes and heats a microscopic channel, and the untouched tissue around every channel is what allows the area to heal quickly.

The thinking behind the treatment is wound-healing biology. As the tiny channels close, the lining is expected to renew itself and the layer beneath to produce fresh collagen. Laboratory and animal work describes these tissue changes; how far they translate into something a woman can feel is the uncertain part, covered under risks below.

The device is Finexel EVERO, made by SNJ in Seoul. It is the vaginal version of the Finexel CO2 platform, with a separate mode for the vaginal applicator. A slim probe carries the beam inside and directs it onto the vaginal wall in turn, so the canal is treated section by section. The clinic's own diagram shows the same two stages: light entering the wall, then warmth spreading through it.

An EVERO laser appointment, step by step

  1. Consultation and an internal examination with Dr. Hye-Yeon Lee
  2. The vaginal area is cleaned and dried, since moisture absorbs the beam
  3. The probe is inserted and the laser is applied in sections along the length of the canal
  4. The probe is withdrawn, the doctor checks the lining, and you are free to leave

“Vaginal laser tightening” and what this laser can and cannot do

“Vaginal laser tightening” is the phrase most people search for, and at this clinic it refers to this fractional CO2 treatment. The laser acts on the lining and the layer under it. It does not shorten muscle, close a gap in the perineum or change the shape of the vaginal opening, and it is a separate machine from the Ultra Vera HIFU and Revive RF devices.

EVERO CO2 vaginal laser price in South Korea

One session: ₩300,000 before tax, ₩330,000 with VAT added.

Three-session package: ₩750,000 before tax, ₩825,000 with VAT added. This is the total for all three visits, not a per-session price.

The clinic's fee schedule is written without tax, which is why each laser fee appears twice; you pay the amount that includes 10% VAT. The tax refund that foreign visitors used to receive on cosmetic care stopped on December 31, 2025.

Whether one session or the package suits you is a decision for after the examination. The package only makes sense if you can return to Seoul, or stay long enough, for the later sessions. The EVERO laser also appears inside several combination packages, for example with vaginal filler, and the team can quote those on request.

Healing after a CO2 vaginal laser

  1. Day 0

Laser session. Mild stinging or warmth is common for a few hours; flying home the same day is possible.

  2. Day 1

A watery or faintly blood-tinged discharge can appear as the treated points heal. Use liners, not tampons.

  3. Day 3

Discharge usually lessens. Increasing pain, a fever or a bad smell are reasons to contact the doctor.

  4. Day 7

The surface of the lining has usually settled. Any change from healing, if it happens, builds over the next weeks.

EVERO CO2 laser risks and the research so far

A fractional CO2 laser creates real, if tiny, wounds. Before your session Dr. Hye-Yeon Lee explains the problems that can follow:

  • Stinging, warmth or swelling of the lining for a day or so
  • Watery or blood-tinged discharge while the points heal
  • Infection of the treated area
  • Burns or scarring of the vaginal wall
  • Pain during intercourse, including long-lasting pain of the kind reported with energy devices
  • No difference you can notice

Burns, scarring, painful intercourse and chronic pain have all been reported after vaginal laser treatment. Specialist societies remain cautious as well: in 2024 the European board of obstetricians and gynecologists, EBCOG, judged the evidence too weak to support routine use of vaginal laser devices (Giarenis et al., 2024).

The strongest trial so far was carried out in postmenopausal women with vaginal symptoms. Fractional CO2 laser was compared with a sham treatment, and after 12 months symptom severity did not differ meaningfully between the two groups (Li et al., 2021). Tissue samples taken in the same trial showed no clear difference in the vaginal lining either (Li et al., 2023). A smaller sham-controlled trial reported better scores on a vaginal health index after 12 weeks (Ruanphoo and Bunyavejchevin, 2020), so the results conflict and the longer, larger study is the more cautious guide. For laxity specifically, the main published work is a study in pigs (Kwon et al., 2018), which says little about women. We cannot tell you how much change to expect or how long it would last.

CO2 vaginal laser questions before you book

Is the doctor who examines me the one using the laser?

Yes. Dr. Hye-Yeon Lee, a Korean board-certified OB/GYN specialist at the same Gangnam Station location since 2008, carries out the examination and operates the EVERO probe herself. She is the clinic's only doctor, so your treatment is never passed to anyone else.

Can I fly home the same day after a CO2 vaginal laser?

Yes. The clinic's guidance allows you to fly home on the day of the laser. Sitting for a long flight is fine; wear a liner for the light discharge that may start, drink water and keep your aftercare instructions in your hand luggage in case questions come up at home.

When is intercourse fine again after the EVERO laser?

Dr. Hye-Yeon Lee gives you a date before you leave, based on how the lining looks after treatment. Because the laser leaves microscopic wounds, give the area time to settle and wait until any discharge or tenderness has stopped. Pain that continues should be reported to her.

Do the EVERO laser prices on this page include VAT?

Each price appears twice: once before VAT, as the fee schedule shows it, and once with 10% VAT, which is what you are charged. That applies to both the single session and the three-session package. Foreign visitors can no longer reclaim VAT on cosmetic treatment.

Is the appointment conducted in English?

Yes. Dr. Hye-Yeon Lee and the clinic can see you in English, from the examination to the aftercare instructions. Before your trip you can write to us in English through the form on this page or on WhatsApp, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
